Our mission

Bring people home. Support Alaska families. Prevent the next loss.

AK Dive Rescue exists to locate and recover people, evidence, vehicles, vessels, and aircraft in Alaska's difficult water environments — while educating the public on water, ice, and boating safety.

Who we are

A team of volunteer public safety divers, boat operators, medics, sonar and ROV operators, and surface support based in Alaska.

Why Alaska needs this team

Alaska's rivers, lakes, and coastal waters are cold, remote, and unforgiving. Specialized dive search and recovery capability is rare — and often the difference between closure and unanswered questions.

Statewide coverage

We deploy across the state when activated through the Alaska Department of Public Safety Search and Rescue Coordinator, in any season, day or night.

All volunteer

Every responder on our team is unpaid. Training, gear, boats, fuel, and travel are made possible by donations from people and businesses who believe in the mission.

501(c)(3) donation-funded

We are a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit. We never charge agencies, families, or communities for our services.

Public education

We share what we learn on the water — cold water, ice, and boating safety education to help prevent the next tragedy.

Help bring closure to Alaska families

Your donation keeps the team ready for the next call.
